An Artists’ Group
A structured and inclusive space where artists come together for mutual support and dialogue
Who is this for?
you have a regular creative practice
you want to improve your work through respectful critique and feedback
you are comfortable discussing art concepts, politics and history through an intersectional lens
you’re looking to contribute to a community
you are willing to meet IRL in the NYC area
What is it?
Activities could include critiques of work/asking for feedback, discussing concepts and readings, asking advice about technique and process, studio visits, sharing a meal, field trips, or visiting a museum or gallery. I’m hoping that organic connections and collaborations can arise from this space.
This is an experiment! I’ll begin to shape the initial structure based on what I hear from the group.
When is it?
We’ll meet once every six weeks starting in September 2022; most likely it will be a weekday evening or on the weekend. After three meetings we can reassess how often and when we want to meet.
Location
New York, NY/Brooklyn NY
Cost
TBD; dependent on the events/activities that are offered. The group can also decide if we want to fund something together.
Conduct
In order to create an inclusive environment, I ask that anyone who joins the group abides by these principles.
Mutual respect
Vulnerability
Willingness to contribute
As part of our initial meeting, we’ll shape more specific rules of conduct to ensure that the space feels inclusive for everyone.
Join.
