Tracie has been interested in creating things since she was a child. She continued making things while at Wellesley College and went abroad to Florence Italy to learn about the world and how to make more things. She lived in Boston for a while and traveled periodically back to Italy. Now she lives in Brooklyn, NY with her awesome boyfriend, best friend and amazing fetching cat. She hopes to continue finding wonder through the creative process and to share that wonder with other people.

photo by Susan WilsonI love making music – I always have. I study
and perform “classical” music: works by the great composers of
the sixteenth through the nineteenth centuries and new music by composers
of our own time. I am out to share my enthusiasm for traditional classical
music which in its profound beauty has stood the test of centuries, and which
still carries so much relevance to our harried times. I’m equally fascinated
by modern music, which gives new meaning to the concepts of “beauty”
and “cool”. So-called “avant-garde” music simultaneously
ponders the events of our time and critically reflects on the traditions of
European tonal music. New music defies and challenges those traditions, sometimes
revering tradition through passionate acts of defiance. It will prove to be
as enduring as the music of Bach and Beethoven, the longevity of which earned
it the term “classic”.
So far, I have performed as a concert soloist in Bermuda and the New England area. My latest solo appearances were at Bermuda’s City Hall as part of the 2004 Bermuda Festival and in Boston’s Jordan Hall as a winner of New England Conservatory’s 2004 Piano Department Honors Competition. I have joined several Bermudian orchestras for piano concerto performances, including the Bermuda Philharmonic. I also have experience as a chamber player, having performed for instance with the Bermuda Menuhin Foundation and the Callithumpian Consort in Boston. I have a B.A. in music from Wellesley College, a M.M. in piano performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, and I am currently enrolled in the Graduate Diploma program at NEC.
