Six Apart

As the Design Director at Six Apart Services, I created and supervised the design process that was applied to all client projects. I mentored a team of designers in iterating concepts, creating information architecture documents, the implementation of the user interface and templates, and writing design and workflow documentation. I was responsible for the quality and consistency of all design work produced by the team. I facilitated the working relationship between designers, developers and project managers through a series of lunch presentations, discussions and encouraging attendance to design events, lectures and conferences.

I guided clients through the design process by facilitating discussions, leading whiteboard sessions and presenting concepts. In addition, I negotiated and balanced client objectives with internal goals. I also served as the design liaison between departments and contributed to the definition of the project process and communicated, taught and reinforced the process within the department. I also assisted in departmental hiring. I supported the Sales team and Director of Accounts by presenting the company portfolio to potential clients, writing proposals and creating project estimates.
