settling in

| | Comments (0)

The past few days have been insanely busy with moving from boston to brooklyn. what's crazy is that it's all happened within the span of a month!

So now I'm trying to recover from the stress of packing up and moving (the cold I had two weeks ago has come back). However I am enjoying the view of the Empire State building from the bedroom.

Now comes the settling in part - where does everything go in the apartment? Where's the closest grocery store? When are garbage days? Where do the buses go?

Luckily the neighbors are super-friendly - they actually make eye contact with you and say hi!

Fourth of July on the rooftop seems pretty promising.

New York, here we come

So begins a new chapter.

Wayne and I are moving to New York in two short weeks. I'm excited, nervous, ecstatic all at the same time. We've been talking about making this move for a long while, and everything just fell in to place. Well, mainly it was Wayne getting an awesome job at a charter school in Williamsburg. And our friend Stepha's (who recently moved to NY) sublet was running out on July 1st so we could all (conveniently) move in together. And then we found a great apartment (no broker!), right down the street from one of our fellow workshoppers.

And it's all thanks to Craigslist! No really. One day I'll donate money to them.

Even though I can't wait to be in New York, for the past couple of days I've been nostalgic, walking around Boston. Thinking,"wow, this will be the last time I'll come through here" or "what is this going to look like in five years, I wonder?" or "you know what the T isn't really all that bad". And yes I'll miss my apartment. NO I will not miss the 39 bus shaking my house at all hours of the day and night.

Anyway, for those interested in reminiscing, we're having a going away party at my house on Sunday at 6, email me for details.

Ooh yes, check out pics of our new pad.
